Family pay tribute to man who died following collision
The family of 31-year-old Allan Woodcock, who died in hospital two days after the 3.30pm collision in Tilehurst Road, have released the following statement:
"Allan was a fun loving family man who was enjoying an occasional night out at the darts with a group of his close friends, which he did most years.
“Allan was a keen sportsman and over recent years he has run marathons and competed in the London to Brighton bike ride, as well as numerous other events for charities.
“He was well loved by all of his family and his large group of friends.
“Allan was the kind of person that just the mention of his name would bring a smile to anyone's face that knew him and he will be sadly missed by all, following this tragic accident."
Mr Woodcock was a pedestrian critically injured in the collision, involving a white Ford Transit van and he was taken afterwards to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading with critical injuries.
He was transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he died on Wednesday January 15, according to police.
