Family pays tribute to Tadley man who died in Padworth Common collision
Philip Keefe, aged 38, died after the car he was driving was in collision with a tree in Baughurst Road, near to the junction with Rectory Road.
A tribute released by his family yesterday (Wednesday Nov 14) read:
“In his early teens Philip was fascinated by the exploits of Donald Campbell.
“He went to Presentation College in Reading and then to Loughborough University where he graduated in Aeronautical Engineering in 1996.
“He worked for Kodak as an Operational Maintenance Engineer on photo processing then in 2006 joined Emerson Group in Slough as a Calibration Engineer on measuring equipment dedicated to the petro-chemical industry.
“Philip will be dearly missed by his father Arthur (better known as Tom) and his two brothers.”
An inquest into Mr Keefe’s death was opened by the Reading Coroner’s office on Tuesday (Nov 13) and adjourned to a later date.
Fire, ambulance and police crews were called to the scene at 6.45am last Thursday.
Investigating officer, Pc Lewis McQueen of the Joint Roads Policing Unit based at Three Mile Cross, has appealed for anyone who saw the car prior to the crash to come forward.
