Family plea for help in finding missing Basingstoke man, last seen in Burghclere, 10 months on

Yesterday, December 17, marks 10 months since the disappearance of Charles Knight from Basingstoke.

Mr Knight, 30, was last seen leaving his parents’ house in Burghclere at around 8.30am on February 17.

After two-and-a-half weeks of searching, Hampshire Constabulary scaled back its operation in March.

A family member has now taken to social media, calling for people to not give up in their search for him.

Taking to Facebook on December 16 (Thursday) they said: “We are desperate to find Charlie, to know he is alive is all his mum and the entire family want for Christmas this year, especially his children.

“To see him and be able to hug him would be even better”.

Mr Knight was described as white with tanned skin, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, slim, with dark hair and a beard. He also has a number of tattoos on his arms and hands.

He was last seen wearing a green jacket, green cap, black trousers and walking boots.

The online plea to the public, as the Christmas period begins, asks members of the public to simply “remain vigilant”.

They said: “Please don’t ever give up looking for him, please remain vigilant, and please, I can’t stress this enough, if you think you see someone that looks like Charlie, take a photo and send it to a known family member with details of where you saw him or take it to the police and give them the location details referencing Charlie’s name and the reference number 44210059947.

“A photo is the quickest way for us to know if it could possibly be Charlie, or just a man who looks similar.

“So if you know anything or anyone who knows of his whereabouts, please, please, let us know, we just need to know he’s safe.

“He is loved. He is missed. He is needed”.
