Newbury family set to reach new heights in fundraising efforts for Parkinson’s UK
A Newbury family are hoping to bring their fundraising total to £15,000 as they take on their "biggest challenge yet" next month.
The Evans family have been raising vital funds for Parkinson’s UK for four years, after mum Claire was diagnosed with the condition.
Now, brothers Miles and Louis, and their dad Mick, are hoping to add to the £12,000 they have already raised for
the charity by scaling Ben Nevis, the highest peak in Britain, on Saturday, September 10.
They pledged to raise as much as they could after Claire was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, the fastest growing neurological condition in the world which affects around 145,000 people in the UK.
Miles said: “We were all shocked when mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, not only did we not really know what it was, but we thought she was too young to have the condition.
"But we soon found out that anyone can be diagnosed with Parkinson’s, at any age."

“We’ve spent the last few years focusing our efforts and trying to raise as much money as we can for Parkinson’s UK," added Mr Evans.
"Ben Nevis will be our biggest fundraising challenge yet, and we’re really hoping to hit our £15,000 target.
"We know that the money we raise will make a huge difference in helping develop better treatments and a cure for the condition, as well as support services for people with Parkinson’s and families like ours."
