Fancy taking a skydive or running a marathon for charity?
Daisy’s Dream is a registered charity that last year helped 650 children in Berkshire, of which 20 per cent were from West Berkshire
This year the charity, which receives no statutory funding, is looking for sports clubs in West Berkshire to help raise over £300,000 it needs to continue its services.
Community fundraiser for Daisy’s Dream in West Berkshire, Gemma Gittins said: “Our funds are raised by our own efforts and those of our local communities. We need to raise over £300,000 per year to continue helping the hundreds of children in Berkshire that we support each year.
“In 2012 we helped over 650 children across the county; 20 per cent of the children were from West Berkshire. Sadly, in 2013 we expect these numbers to rise and, as such, we need the help of our local communities more than ever.
“We are currently looking for volunteers to help us raise these much needed funds. If you, or someone you know, would be willing to do a sponsored skydive, run a marathon, enter a team in our quiz night, or take part in a charity golf day then please get in touch.
“If you don’t fancy any of these events, then how about displaying one of our posters in your local village hall, shop or sports club or even organising a fundraising event of your own?”
