Farewell to the dogs best friend
Rehoming centre manager Maureen Iggleden, originally from Boxford, has helped rehome an estimated 15,000 dogs in her time at the Hamstead Marshall centre.
She said: “It is quite hard to imagine what life will be like beyond my time here at Dogs Trust. It has not only been a privilege to work here, but a way of life for me as I have lived on site at the rehoming centre for so many years. I’ve seen Dogs Trust grow from a small charity to the largest dog welfare charity of its kind.
“To have worked with so many extraordinary people and met so many beautiful dogs has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Everyone I’ve worked with, from my colleagues, to our volunteers and supporters has made this such a memorable journey.
“My colleagues have joked that you can take me out of Dogs Trust, but you can’t take the Dogs Trust out of me and I think that sums up the time I’ve spent working here.”
Chief executive officer at Dogs Trust, Clarissa Baldwin, added: “Maureen has been central to the success of Dogs Trust’s rehoming centre in Newbury over the years.
“Her leadership and dedication has led to many thousands of dogs finding carefully matched homes.
“There is no doubt that Maureen will be missed tremendously.”
