Fatal motorway crash




POLICE have appealed for witnesses following a fatal collision on the M4 near the Membury services.

At around 7pm yesterday, Saturday, a vehicle travelling on the M4 between junctions 15 to 14 towards Reading, was involved in a collision with a male pedestrian on the carriageway.

The pedestrian died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

The M4 was closed while officers examined the scene and has since reopened.

Sgt Justin Thomas, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision on the M4 near to the Membury services and ask anyone, who hasn’t already spoken to the police, to come forward with details.”
