Father and son reunited

Ricky Hicks, who is 64 and lives in Fokerham Road, believed he would never get to see his son, Matthew Hicks Emmott, who was taken to Yorkshire by his mother shortly after he was born.
But after years of searching, father and son were finally reunited after Mr Hicks Emmott tracked down his dad on the internet.
Proud Mr Hicks revealed the moment he spoke to his son for the first time – and admitted it all became too much.
“I went to pieces and my wife had to take the phone off me, I just broke down in tears. It was the moment I had been waiting over 40 years for."
That phone call wasn’t the only surprise for Mr Hicks – he later discovered that he was also a granddad to Mr Hicks Emmott’s son, Isaac - and the pair have already hit it off.
He said: “Dad and Isaac get on like a house on fire.
“He even called him granddad the other day and dad’s heart melted, that was an emotional moment.”
