Female entrepreneur Joanna Bojarska celebrates 10 year anniversary of her beauty business in Newbury

A Newbury entrepreneur has hosted an event for female business founders to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of her award-winning beauty studio.

Beauty therapist Joanna Bojarska celebrated 10 years of Beauty by Joanna Bojarska (which was on May 5) by hosting an event featuring motivational talks by industry experts and a live skincare demonstration at the Waterside Centre on May 11.

The event, organised in partnership with Berkshire Youth, raised more than £600 for the youth charity thanks to guests, sponsors and a raffle.

Explaining why she chose to support Berkshire Youth, Mrs Bojarska – who won Best Home Salon at the UK Hair & Beauty Awards last year – said: “As a mother of a soon-to-be 11-year-old boy, I deeply admire their mission and believe in the importance their work.

“I said I was looking to collaborate with a charity. I introduced them to my plan and how I would like to support the charity, and they agreed.”

Mrs Bojarska moved to Newbury from Poland in 2011. She registered her start-up after finishing her maternity leave in 2015.

She then started a YouTube channel three years later to grow her brand, and said she has since been inundated with clients.

She added: “This is what I always wanted to do in my life. I was already managing a beauty salon back home.

“I always knew that I wanted to be my own boss creating a bespoke, tailored experience for my clients.”

Mrs Bojarska also shared with newburytoday that she has started her own consulting business to help other beauticians thrive in the industry.
