Fetes in Thatcham and Cold Ash today (Saturday)

All are welcome to attend fetes at two schools in the area at Whitelands Park and St Finian's School

PEOPLE are being urged to head on down to Thatcham and Cold Ash today (Saturday) to support two primary school fetes being held.

Whitelands Park Primary School, Sagecroft Road, Thatcham, will be hosting its annual summer fete from 11am until 2pm.

During the day there will be stalls, dance demonstrations and the final of the schools singing contest, the W Factor, with the final acts competing for the prize of an hour in a recording studio.

The fete will cost 20p to enter and the final of the W Factor will take place at about 12.30pm.

It will be raising money for the Friends of Whitelands Park Primary School.

Later on in the day, St Finian's School fete will have a musical theme.

The afternoon's entertainment will start with music from the local group 'Into The Chaos' made up of former St Finian's pupils followed by Cold Ash Brass Juniors and recitals by musicians from Kennet School.

The fete, which takes place from 2pm until 6pm, will be held in the grounds of the next door St Gabriel's Convent in The Ridge, Cold Ash.

It will also include stalls and refreshments, a licensed bar, a bouncy assault course, a farm animal petting corner and electric go-karts.

Adults will be charged £1 to enter and children are free.
