Thames Valley Police charge fifth man in connection with Tilehurst Hallowe'en death




A fifth person has been charged in connection with the death of a man in Tilehurst on Hallowe’en.

Carlos Daniel Capitao Mor Da Fonseca, aged 23, of Fawn Drive, Three Mile Cross, has been charged with murder, possession of a bladed article and perverting the course of justice.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Reading Magistrates Court today (Friday).

Thames Valley Police officers were called to reports of the stabbing in Romany Lane at around 10.40pm on October 31.

The victim, who died at the scene, has been formally identified as 22-year-old Reece Heffernan from Tilehurst.

A post-mortem examination has concluded that the cause of death was a stab wound to his chest.

Three individuals who were arrested in this investigation have been released on conditional bail:

An 18-year-old man from Reading who was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender.

An 18-year-old woman from Reading and a 21-year-old woman from Wokingham, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
