Final countdown to Thatcham fireworks

The event will be the only display in West Berkshire with no entry charge, although donations will be requested on the gate via a bucket collection.
The display will take place in a new location at the Thatcham Memorial Field in Brownsfield Road and a special bus service from Thatcham Railway Station and another service from Newbury Bus Station and Parkway will be in operation on the night.
Thatcham resident, Richard Garvie took over the organisation of the event this year when the Rotary Club decided to stop hosting its display after about 30-years.
Mr Garvie said that everything was now in place for the display and hoped the crowds turned out to support the event.
He said: “It's been a very rewarding experience to organise the display for this year, and I've been helped by many businesses such as Ridgeway Skoda who have sponsored the event and others such as Parkway and Newbury Business Improvement District.
“With no entry charge this year, I really hope we get a great turnout and that people donate to our bucket collection in aid of local organisations."
Organisations which are set to benefit from the collection include Thatcham Memorial Hall, Thatcham Army Cadets, Thatcham Cricket Club and the Poppy Appeal.
Ridgeway Skoda manager, Stuart Rolfe, said: “As a new business in West Berkshire, it's a great pleasure to do something that will allow so many people and families to experience a free night out, whilst also raising vital funds for many local organisations."
There will also be a fun fair, catering units and community stalls at the event.
The event starts at 5pm but the fireworks will start from 7pm.
