Final preparations for Burghfield May Fair
The annual Burghfield May Fair will take place on Sunday, May 8
THE annual Burghfield May Fair has come around again.
The popular event will take place at The Hatch, Burghfield Village, on Sunday, May 8 from 10.30am until 4pm, although there will also be fun the night before (Saturday) with a barn dance and live music in the marquee.
Staged by the Burghfield Residents Association, the May Fair is open to the people of Burghfield and surrounding areas, and raises funds for local charities and other good causes.
At last year's event over £4,000 was raised.
Entry is free and there are plenty of activities for the whole family including a fun fair, children's storyteller, circus workshop, dog show and display, craft tent, book stall, tombola, and lots of local charity stalls.
Tadley Brass Band will perform and there will be traditional competitions including tug-of-war and egg throwing.
The fair will also see the official launch of the Greening Burghfield campaign, an initiative aimed at engaging the community in energy and money saving activities.
