West Berkshire Fibromyalgia support group hosts Long Covid talk at Shaw House, in Newbury
A talk by one of the country’s leading figures on Long Covid is being held in Newbury.
Dr Deepak Ravindran will speak at the event on Monday (June 13) from 7pm until 9pm, at Shaw House.
He will discuss the issues around chronic pain caused by fibromyalgia, chronic pain and more recently Long Covid at the event, which is organised by the West Berkshire Fibromyalgia Support Group.
The event is free but seats need to be booked by emailing westberks.fibromyalgia@gmail.com
Mary, treasurer of the support group, said she had been relieved to discover the group existed after her diagnosis.
“With the support of people from the fibro group, and a better medical understanding of what all means, I find that I am now able to manage my condition in the knowledge that there are a lot of us out there,” she said. “I have got to meet a lot of lovely people and made some good friends.
“I think the biggest thing I have benefitted from was realising that fibromyalgia is an individual journey and that not everyone reacts the same, which is why I suspect it has taken so long to become a proper diagnosis.”
She manages a facebook page ‘West Berkshire Fibromyalgia Support’, where people can find more information.
