Choral singing is enjoying a boom in popularity thanks to Gareth Malone and others. Here is an opportunity to participate with the local chamber choir, directed by Kintbury church organist Chris Lambert.

Together with the Friends of St Mary’s Church, Opus2 is holding the 'Come & Sing' day to raise funds for the church and at the same time as bringing music to the community.

The choir are looking for local singers – some experience of singing and of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle would be advantageous - to join them and Come and Sing.

For those participating, the day will comprise rehearsals, culminating in a performance in the evening of Rossini’s fabulous Petite Messe Solonnelle - neither particularly petite nor solonnelle – with the choir and professional soloists.

Opus2 hope this will appeal to many who may wish to enjoy the experience of choral singing and find their voices again.

A registration fee of £25 per singer will include rehearsals for the day and a light lunch. Singers are asked to provide their own music score for the event.

If you are interested in joining Opus2 for this concert, please send an email enquiry for registration details to comeandsingrossini@hotmail.com

The performance will take place at 7.30pm. Tickets for the event are priced £15and are available from The Corner Shop, Kintbury, online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/opus2 or on the door on the night.
