Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Welcome to this week’s Dog of the Week.
Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.
And so every Sunday we will continue to shine a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 740 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.
Today we have a cheeky little chap to share with you.
Finn is a typical five-year-old trailhound - full of affection, food and drive!
He will try to follow his nose anywhere and therefore a secure garden is a must!
“Finn also struggles with being left so will need company whilst he is settling in,” said those currently looking after him at Newbury’s Dogs Trust.
“He will settle in his crate here in the kennels, so should be capable of building up leaving hours, using positive training techniques and a slow approach.
“Finn can be conflicted when meeting other dogs, but he is working hard with his handlers to help build his confidence.”
He will need to find a home where he can be the only dog, but he may be able to have calm canine walking buddies.
He wouldn’t be able to live with other smaller pets either because as a trailhound he has a high prey drive.
Dogs Trust added: “Finn has lots of love to give to his forever home and would love a home where he can explore safely using his nose.”
