Firefighters spent about two hours tackling a blaze at London Road in Newbury last night (Sunday)

FIRE crews spent about two hours tackling a blaze at a storage building in Newbury last night (Sunday).

Two appliances from Newbury fire station were called to the blaze at Riverdale Court, London Road, at about 8.30pm after receiving reports of a fire at a storage building that housed waste containers.

Fire crews spent about two hours at the scene and extensive damage was caused to the building.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but it is being investigated.
