Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Theale, Caversham Road and Whitley Wood fight boat fire at Pangbourne




Emergency services responded to reports of a fire over the weekend.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Theale, Caversham Road and Whitley Wood arrived at the scene of a boat fire near Shooters Hill, Pangbourne, at 11.55am on Saturday, September 9.

They were joined by crews from the Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service and the water rescue unit from Caversham Road and three officers.

Firefighters discovered a boat alight and used one jet to extinguish the fire.

They provided immediate emergency care before placing two casualties in the care of the South Central Ambulance Service.

The boat was safely moored and crews were on the scene for just under three hours.
