Fire crews rescue horse trapped in trailer

Fire crews have rescued a horse that became trapped in a trailer at the weekend.

The animal needed rescuing after it was trapped in a horse trailer on Sunday on Sulhamstead Road, Sulhamstead.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) crews from Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene at 4.12pm.

An animal rescue unit from Caversham Road Fire Station and one RBFRS officer were also at the scene.

Crews worked to release the animal, that was subsequently checked by a vet.

They were at the scene for approximately 47 minutes.
