Fire service contol merger approved

The plans were given the go-ahead by RBFA at a recent management committee meeting and by OCC at a delegated decisions meeting.
Work will now begin on a revised, detailed staffing model to establish how many posts will now be required for the TVFCS.
Deputy chief fire officer at RBFRS, Olaf Baars, said: “I am delighted that political approval has now been granted for Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service to join the Thames Valley Fire Control Service.
“The addition of Buckinghamshire will further enhance our aims of providing an improved service to the public we serve, greater safety for firefighters and a more cost-effective service for the people of all three counties.”
