Fire service safety leaflet for jubilee celebrations
Paul Jacques, RBFRS Group Manager for Prevention, said there was much to think about when organising jubilee celebrations, but fire safety should be among considerations:
“For example, if you are planning a party in a non-domestic building, you will need to take into account the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which is a legal requirement, said Mr Jacques.
“In addition, if you have permission from your local authority to close your road for a street party, it’s really important to leave enough space for a fire engine or ambulance to get down it in an emergency.”
The service has issued a leaflet containing fire safety hints and tips covering every aspect of the celebrations, including street parties, fireworks, barbecues and beacons.
