Newbury fire station to host armed forces veteran's hub event

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is hosting an Armed Forces Veteran’s Hub event tomorrow (Friday).

The theme is Armistice Day and the event is open to all veterans.

Attendees will be able to speak to a range of organisations and charities that support the armed forces community, and each other.

The Armed Forces Veterans’ Hub was launched in Berkshire on Saturday, November 7, 2020 following receipt of the Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).

The service received the Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme in August 2018 after signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2017.

RBFRS said this affirms the fire authority and service’s ongoing commitment to the armed forces community.

The event will take place at the Newbury Fire Station between 10am-1pm.
