The manager of Hungerford Arcade, Rita Kibble, who drove past the scene at 8.40am today (Monday), said flames at that time were "eight feet high" she said and continued:
"As we got nearer you could see flames and thick smoke billowing up. You couldn't make out if the crops were on fire."
"It was a real blaze!"
Traffic in the area was unaffected according to Mrs Kibble.
The RBFRS did not have any further details as to the cause of the blaze , or if anyone was hurt.
Firefighters left the scene at 9.12am.
