Firefighters battle Tadley Common heathland blaze

According to the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, one pump from Tadley and a second from Basingstoke - a total 18 firefighters - were called at 6.10pm to Tadley Common, in Pamber Heath, where a 30m by 30m area of heathland was alight.
Fire crews used two compressed air foam jets and one hose reel to extinguish the blaze, before leaving the scene at 8.03pm
A local man reported flames reaching 25 ft at the height of the blaze.
The fire service recorded the cause as accidental, with no investigation into the blaze.
