Firefighters battle Woolhampton field fire




Area well alight on arrival

FIREFIGHTERS from two counties battled a Woolhampton field fire this afternoon (Sat).

Two fire engines from Newbury and one from Whitley Wood, plus another from Tadley were called at 1pm to the A4 near Woolhampton, to an 100m x 200m area of stubble which was well alight.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze using two hosereels.

The cause was recorded as accidental.

Firefighters left the scene at around 2pm.
