Firefighters cut driver out of car on M4 Reading/Newbury

Crew manager Ken Bell of Blue Watch at Dee Road Fire Station Tilehurst said 3 pumps were called at 8.30am from Tilehurst, Whitley Wood and Newbury, to a Mini on a verge beside the M4 between junctions 12 and 13 westbound.
No other vehicles were involved.
Firefighters removed the roof of the car to release the driver, who was taken to hospital.
The motorway remained open throughout with the vehicle on the hard shoulder.
Firefighters left the scene at 9.30am.
