Firefighters rescue cat stuck under Aldermaston decking

Eight lives left after ordeal

A CAT used up one of its nine lives after being stuck under decking at an Aldermaston home last night (Sunday).

One fire engine from Dee Road Fire Station, in Tilehurst, was called at 7.10pm, to a property in Church Road, where a tabby cat had become stuck under a decking area in the garden, after being chased by a dog.

The cat had refused to come out because of a stream running along the end of the decking.

Firefighters used handtools to prise up some of the boards to rescue the cat, which was unharmed.

Firefighters left the scene at 7.40pm
