Firefighters rescue man in Curridge with foot stuck in lorry tailgate

Firefighters were called at 3.30pm from Newbury Fire Station to Long Lane, where a man had trapped his foot between the tailgate and back of the lorry, whilst loading washing machines onto the lorry.
Three firefighters released the man, after sliding his foot along the twisted tailgate, to a part where it was open and the man’s foot could be freed.
The man, who was wearing steel toe capped boots, suffered some bruising, but was otherwise unhurt and treated at the scene by paramedics.
Firefighters left the scene after ten minutes.
