Firefighters tackle chimney fire in Brimpton

Newbury firefighters were called to a house in Brimpton Road at about 6.45pm last night (Thursday)

FIREFIGHTERS from Newbury tackled a chimney fire at a house in Brimpton last night (Thursday).

At about 6.45pm, fire crews from Newbury received reports of a chimney fire at a house in Brimpton Road.

One crew attended and spent about 90 minutes at the scene, using chimney fire equipment and a thermal imaging camera to control the blaze.

No one was hurt in the incident, but fire crews said there was some smoke damage to the living room of the house.
