Firefighters tackle East Garston manure heap fire

According to the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, one pump from Lambourn was called to the fire at 7.31pm, in a 20 tonne heap of horse manure, at a stables in Front Street, before being joined by a Newbury fire crew.
Firefighters used hay forks to move the manure into smaller piles, before dousing them with water and were at the scene about one and a half hours.
The incident was closed at 7.31pm by the fire service, but a Newbury fire crew made further checks at midnight and also this morning (Tues).
