Firefighters tackle Newbury tumble drier fire and man stuck in lift

Spokeswoman for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS), Ellie Gray, said two pumps from Newbury Fire Station were called at 11.23pm to a house in Pelican Lane, where a tumble drier was on fire.
The fire was discovered out on arrival and firefighters left the scene at 11.37pm.
Earlier that evening, one pump from the station was called at 4.59pm to a man stuck in a lift, at a property in Chesterfield Road.
Firefighters helped to free the man before leaving the scene at 5.36pm.
