Firefighters water safety advice today in Newbury

Special tank demonstrates weir water movement
Local firefighters will pull up in Newbury town centre today (Thursday) advising on water safety - and will be taking along a special tank.
The tank will simulate how water behaves in a weir, in a special water safety advisory exercise aimed at the 18 to 30 age group.
The advice follows hot weather, which made an early appearance this week throughout the local area, and when a plunge into local waterways to cool off can seem tempting.
The firefighters will also be taking their fire engine and a water rescue boat along to Northbrook Street, between 10am and 5pm.
