West Berkshire fireworks displays happening this weekend




The Newbury Lions Club’s Charity Fireworks Spectacular is being held at Newbury Racecourse on Saturday (November 5).

Gates at the award-winning display will open at 5pm, with the fireworks – set to music – to begin at 7.30pm.

There will be food and drink outlets, including a bar, as well as music and children’s entertainment.

Tickets must be bought in advance and cost £10 per adult, £5 per child aged over 5 or £20 for a family.

Falkland Cricket Club will be hosting its annual firework display on Saturday (November 5).

Gates open at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7.15pm and the fireworks will follow at approximately 7.45 pm.

All proceeds will be going to fund the charitable activities of Falkland Cricket Club, which includes promoting community activities and sport for all, including those who are disabled or otherwise disadvantaged.

Food and hot and cold drinks will be available and there is a licenced bar plus activities to keep children occupied, including a number of fairground amusements.

Pre-purchased tickets are on sale at The Bowler’s Arms (in Falkland Cricket Club) until tomorrow (November 4). Tickets may still be available at the gate on the evening if capacity hasn’t been reached.

Advance tickets cost £7.50 or £20 for a family (2 adult, 2 children). Children under five are free.

If available, tickets on the gate will cost £10 per person, or £25 per family, with under fives still free.

Thatcham Fireworks in the Field will be lighting up the skies tomorrow (Friday, November 4).

The event, which is organised by Francis Baily and Kennet School PTAs, will be held on the shared school field.

Tickets cost £10 per adult (18+), £5 per child (4-17) and £20 for a family of four (either 2 adult and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children). Under 4s go free.

Family tickets will not be available on the night.

Tickets are available to buy in advance from the Co-Op, Station Road; Sweet Imagination, The Broadway; The Liquor Shop, Station Road; Francis Baily School office; or Kennet School office.

Gates will open at 6.30pm, and the display starts at 7.30pm.

The Chieveley fireworks show – believed to be the country’s longest running village fireworks display - is happening once again this Saturday (November 5) at Chieveley Village Hall and Recreation Ground.

The event will be running from 5.45pm until 9pm.

The bonfire will be lit at 7.15pm, followed by traditional fireworks at 7.45pm.

Deadline for judging entries of the Guy Competition ¬ traditional or Buzz Lightyear themed - is at 6.30pm, at the tent next to the Village Hall. Each Guy entry will then take part in a torch-lit procession through the crowds to the bonfire.

Cash prizes will be awarded an a BBQ and drinks will be available.

Tickets can only be purchased in advance and cost £6.50 each, with under fives free.

Kingsclere’s annual fireworks event is taking place this Saturday at Kingsclere Primary School on Ash Grove.

All proceeds will go to the school, and the event is being run by its PTA, Friends of Kingsclere School.

The ticketed event costs £6 for adults, £4 for children, and preschool children go free.

Tickets are on sale at Swan Street Stores, and disabled parking is available if booked in advance by contacting fksfireworks@gmail.com

Gates open at 4.30pm, and the fireworks display starts at 6pm.

The Thameside Firework Fiesta returns to Purley-on-Thames this weekend.

The display will be held at Mapledurham Lock on Sunday (November 6) and doors will open at 3.30pm, with the fireworks display set to begin for 6pm.

Food and drinks will be available.

Tickets for the event, which is organised by the Purley Primary School Parent Teacher Association and supported by the community, are on sale at Purley Shop, The Mad Duck Café and from Purley Primary School.
