Newbury Lions Club fireworks display to light up Newbury Racecourse for the 50th time

Newbury Lions Club will be hosting its 50th annual fireworks event at Newbury Racecourse next month.

Tying in with the community organisation’s 50 years of service, the club also announced that it has also donated over £50,000 to local people and families in need.

Tickets for the 2023 fireworks spectacular can be purchased online at Eventbrite, at the Lions stall in Newbury Market, at local Tesco branches in Pinchington Lane and Northbrook Street in Newbury and in London Road and Northfield Road in Thatcham, or at Newbury Building Society branches in Newbury, Thatcham and Hungerford.

Newbury Lions president Margo Payne said: “As a very small group, we work really hard to raise as much as we can through our fundraising events.

“Our Fireworks event is our main source of income and hope that people will come along to support us again this year so we can help more people going forward.

“We would love to hear from anyone having a few hours a month to spare who would like to get involved in organising fund raising events and also from anyone who would like to help us on November 4.”

Anyone interested in finding out more about Newbury Lions or able to offer help at events is invited to contact Mrs Payne on president@newburylions.org.uk
