Reading Magistrates' Court: Thatcham firm accused of selling counterfeit clothing
A THATCHAM-based director of an international firm has been accused of selling fake designer label clothing.
The case against R'Ellite Raiments Ltd, whose UK office is based at an address in Church Gate, Thatcham, has been brought by West Berkshire Council's trading standards department.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 1, was company director Rajkumar Karuppiah Rajan, who lives at the same address.
Thirty-nine-year-old Mr Rajan and the company face seven charges of selling jeans, sweat shirts, bikini briefs, hoodies, shorts and other clothing items which bore fake designer labels.
The big name brands are said to include Tommy Hilfiger, Levi's, Ralph Lauren, G-Star and Diesel.
The offences are said to have been committed in Hook, Hampshire, between February 15 and February 17 last year.
The case did not proceed any further that day and was adjourned until October.
The firm's website states it has offices in the UK, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
