First crafters cross the finish line

About 30 groups of people on home-made rafts set off from Kintbury Lock at about 8.30am and a group calling themselves, The Bart Streets Kids, were first past the finish line.
Marcus Franks from the organising group, Newbury Round Table, said: “It’s been good, apart from being slightly wet.
"Hopefully it will dry up later and we’ll see lots of crowds out.”
There is currently a lot going on in Victoria Park including rides, stalls, food outlets and drumming workshops.
The prize giving will take place about 3.30pm and categories will include fastest finisher in various categories, best fancy dress in various categories and the spirit of Crafty Craft.
