Pyjama performances a first for West Berkshire theatre

Family audiences were in a festive mood on Sunday, December – despite the freezing fog and covid uncertainty – as they arrived at The Watermill for the first ever Pyjama Performance of The Jungle Book.

This new initiative allows parents to bring their children “bed-ready” in their pyjamas, at 5pm on Sunday, December 26, Monday 27, Tuesday 28 and Friday 31.

There is also a digital version of the show available to watch on demand. By making the show available digitally alongside live performances, The Watermill aims to reach more people with their magical new production.

Watermill executive director Claire Murray said: “School children and families have been raving about The Jungle Book’s brilliant songs and beautiful storytelling, and we loved the response to our first-ever Pyjama Performance. We were also so excited to be able to share the show on demand, so that everyone could enjoy this festive treat, in their pyjamas if they wished, in the comfort of their own homes.”
