The Neighbourhood Watch covers all of West Berkshire which includes around 540 Neighbourhood Watch schemes.

Of this, 21 are new schemes from this year alone.

At the first meeting, next week, there will be a talk by PC Colin Boyes from the Thames Valley Police Rural Crime Taskforce.

There will be another police speaker to discuss crimes and operations within the district.

It is hoped that a representative from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue will attend too.

Crime prevention literature will be available.

Anyone is welcome to attend and anybody interested in setting up a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme on their road can contact Angela Money on (01635) 40866 or 07774 962641.

The first meeting will fall on Monday, August 21, at the Waterside Centre in Newbury town centre.
