First signs of snow in north Hampshire

Light white blanket covered East Woodhay this morning (Monday)

NORTH Hampshire had its first snowfall of 2012 in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Newbury Weekly News photographer Phil Cannings captured these images of snowdrops covered in the white stuff in East Woodhay.

Mr Cannings, who spotted the snow whilst taking his son to school at about 8.50am, said: “It was still snowing when I took him to school and it settled in a few places, but just a couple of miles up the road, there was nothing.

“The children were very excited to see it. They were all playing in it at school.”
