Flash flood weather warning issued for south

Heavy showers sweep across Newbury as Met Office issues warning on Thursday afternoon

THE Met Office has warned of heavy, slow-moving showers across southern and central England into Thursday evening.

Experts have predicted up to 30mm of rainfall could fall in places throughout the day.

As of 6pm, there were reports of standing water on Newbury town centre roads.

Further heavy showers are predicted for tomorrow.
