Flash floods likely to affect West Berkshire as thunderstorm clouds gather

According to the latest Met Office forecast for London and the South East, a few showers this morning (Monday) are likely to be followed by isolated and perhaps heavy thunderstorms late this afternoon, in very hot, humid conditions, with temperatures around 33 degrees Celsius.
Isolated heavy and blustery thunderstorms are possible at first, but more especially as the night goes on.
With the ground conditions hard, following weeks without rain, any downpour is likely to cause flash flooding, as heavy rain will be unable to soak away quickly.
