Flash mob dance at Tadley supermarket boosts charity funds
Sainsbury’s staff, with the support of customers raised a grand total of over £1,659 from (partial profits of) sales of the charity’s merchandise and in-store donations - including for a front-of-store bicycle ride.
The total raised was boosted further by a flash mob performance by staff, and of pop group, Black Lace’s 1970’s dance routine, Superman, part of a nationwide effort by Sainsbury’s staff.
Sainsbury’s Tadley Store Manager, Jane Hartnup afterwards said:
“I’d like to thank all our customers who made a donation to Sport Relief, whether through buying this year’s merchandise or making a donation to one of our Sport Relief fundraising events in-store. Our customers and colleagues certainly made a winning Sport Relief team and we’re delighted to have raised over £1,659 which will help transform lives in the UK and across the world”.
Left over Sport Relief merchandise, such as socks, headbands, bags, balls, wristbands, water bottles and T-shirt, were afterwards donated by the supermarket to community organisations including Tadley Youth Council, Tadley Court School, Silchester Primary School and Basingstoke Voluntary Services,
