Flog It! comes to Newbury

The BBC Two programme, presented by Paul Martin and which sees groups sell their antiques and collectibles, was filmed at Greenham Business Park on Tuesday.
A number of items went under the hammer including a highly collectible Moorcroft pottery vase, which sold for £1,500 to a collector who had travelled from North Wales to buy it.
SAS consultant, Neil Shuttleworth, said he was pleased with how the day went, with the company having recently expanded to hold a monthly antiques and collectibles auction.
“They [Flog It!] have never been able to come before because of the timings but now we’ve expanded to have this monthly sale,” he said.
“As a small business at Greenham we’ve managed to help promote that area locally as well because they’re filming a couple of features on the Greenham airbase now.”
SAS also auctioned items on behalf of youth charity, YMCA in Newbury.
Manager of YMCA Newbury, Mandy Anderson explained that this was the first time they had auctioned items donated to the shop.
She said: “It’s a good way of us raising as much money as we can so we can help young people in Newbury.”
The venture raised £625 for the charity, which will be used to help set up a new drop in centre for under 25’s in Newbury.
