Flood alert issued for River Pang




Area from East Ilsley to Pangbourne affected

A FLOOD alert has been issued for the River Pang, affecting an area from East Ilsley to Pangbourne.

The flood alert - meaning flooding is possible, be prepared - was issued yesterday (Sunday), by the Environment Agency (EA) and affects an area including: Compton, Hamstead Norreys, Frilsham, Bucklebury, Stanford Dingley and Sulham Brook from Theale to Pang.

According to the latest information provided today (Monday) by the EA, the river and flooding forecast is as follows:

The River Pang and Sulham Brook remain high in response to recent rainfall and water may flow out into some low lying areas. No property flooding is expected. The weather forecast is for further showers over the next few days.

The flood alert is one of 43 in force across the south east.

The next level of alert by the EA, a flood warning, would mean flooding is expected, immediate action is required. A total 2 flood warnings are in force across the south east.

The highest level of alert - a severe flood warning, means danger to life. There are currently no severe flood warnings issued across the south east
