Flood planning progress in West Berkshire
West Berkshire Council has listed 36 flood alleviation projects either under way or being planned for.
The £5m Dunstan Park and South East Thatcham Flood attenuation basins have been dug to slow the flow of surface water throughout Thatcham, which the council says is now more or less complete.
Soon to come online are three more basins in the Thatcham area, due to start in spring next year costing £5.4m, including one at the Memorial Fields which is under public consultation.
Meanwhile, detailed planning for the Hamstead Norreys ditch is now at the business case stage.
Fairfield Close in Hungerford, the A4 west of Newbury, Paices Hill and Speen Lane are all in planning stages.
The council says it is now planning soakaway and ditch strategies for the district.
