Flooding affects wide local area including Lambourn, Shaw and Donnington

According to the Environment Agency (EA),a flood warning - more severe than a flood alert - was in place on the River Kennet, from Denford down to Marsh Benham and including KIntbury, with some flooding of low lying properties closest to the river possible.
A further flood warning was in place on the River Thames at Purley village, where further property flooding was possible, according to the EA.
Groundwater flooding in the Lambourn Valley catchment put communities at risk of flooding in the Lambourn Valley and including several villages and Great Shefford - the EA advises due to the nature of groundwater behaviour this situation could continue for several weeks or longer.
Flood alerts were also in place on the River Lambourn and tributataries, from Upper Lambourn down to Newbury and including the Shaw area of Newbury, also affecting Eastbury, East Garston, Welford, Easton, Boxford, Woodspeen, Bagnor, Donnington, Great Shefford on the Great Shefford stream and Winterbourne on the Winterbourne stream.
Water levels on the River Lambourn through Eastbury were currently high and the river has spilt into the floodplain in several locations in this area, which remains sensitive to further rainfall. No property flooding was currently expected.
Flood alerts were also in place on the River Thames and its tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne (including Goring and Streatley) and the River Thames from Pangbourne to Purley.
The River Kennet and tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury including Winterbourne Monkton, Marlborough, Ramsbury, Hungerford, Denford, KIntbury and Newbury, also the River Og, River Aldbourne, the Froxfield stream, the River Dun and River Shalbourne were also affected by flood alerts.
