Flower show, allotment open day and Meat Loaf all on today's agenda
For 12pm, Southby’s allotment, on Greenham Road, is opening its gates to the public to show how the allotment works and the benefit they can have.
It is free entry and members will be selling their fresh fruit and vegetables, with 50 per cent of all profits going towards the Springs Charity Fundraiser.
A number of activities will be available to entertain the children, including learning how to milk a cow and stall run by the local Brownies.
From 2pm till 4pm, the East Woodhay Flower Show will be running, with performances by local youngster Emma Lawrence and the East Woodhay Silvery Band.
There will also be an art show, a number of stalls, a raffle and tombola.
At 11am, gates open for Ladies Day at The Racecourse Newbury, ahead of the first race at 1:35pm.
The best dressed lady on the day will scoop a seven-night holiday for two to Florida, while return flights to New York are also up for grabs in the prize draw.
Following the final race, Meat Loaf will take to the stage at around 5.10pm, as part of his farewell UK tour “Last At Bat”, with a two-act show - the first to include many of his greatest hits including ‘Dead Ringer For Love’ and ‘I’d Lie For You (And That’s the Truth)’ followed by a second act of the classic debut album ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ – with all seven songs performed in their original order.
