Friday bands night at Ace Space

It's folk, rock and Americana night at Ace Space. tomorrow (Friday, 7.30pm), featuring Des Simmons and the Hired Hands, and Fable of the Bees.

The last time these two bands shared a night at the Ace Space in June it sold out and many were turned away, so turn up early or reserve tickets (£6) by emailing newburyunplugged@btinternet.com

Des Simmons (pictured above) headlines with an excellent band, showcasing a powerful set of intimate new songs about love, loss and angst from his forthcoming album. Paul James from Newbury, and best known as a key member of cult folk legends Blowzabella, who play at Ace Space on 28 October, fronts Fable of the Bees, a crisp, energetic rock band who interpret classic British traditional folk songs. www.fableofthebees.eu
