2 400g/14oz cans plum tomatoes
2 onions chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1tsp dried or 2 tsps chopped fresh basil
salt and pepper
225g/8oz long-grain white rice
450ml water
50g/2oz Parmesan cheese, grated
