Food Festival is a sensation

There was a chance to participate in recipe competitions, plus lessons on how to salt beans, press apples, hot-smoke fish and make your own wine.
The community event was organised by Hungerford Environmental Action Team (HEAT) and also involved Hungerford Scouts and the Hungerford Allotment Holders’ Association (HAHA).
John O'Gaunt School students busked on the town hall steps providing a great atmosphere for the street cafe area while the Love Food, Hate Waste chefs demonstrated recipes and Richard Paget pressed fresh apple juice.
HEAT spokeswoman Helen Cukier said: “We’d like to thank sponsors Doves Farm, Cobbs Farmshop and Old English Inns and all the businesses who supported the event.”
The date of next year's food festival will be Sunday, October 5.
